For the restoration of the lake, Harbauer has implemented a fully automatic alkalization system, which is intended to neutralize the lake in the long term. For this purpose, the water is conveyed directly from the Scheibesee and fed to an extinguishing tank.

Depending on the water flow (max. 270 m3/h), quicklime (max. 10 t/h) is metered in and quenched, resulting in approximately 3% lime milk. The lime milk matures in a ripening container, the discharge of which takes place via two frequency-controlled chemical standard pumps made of plastic, the frequency converter of which is controlled by pressure transmitters in the ripening container. By dosing the lime milk into the lake water, the pH value is finally neutralized.
